Affirmations can be very powerful. If, every day, we wake-up and say, ‘I am a positive person. I am leading a happy, contented, life in which all I need comes easily to me.’ Then, somehow, we make this much more likely to happen. Our very determination to overcome a problem or resolve a troubling issue turns out to prove more powerful than any number of seemingly good reasons to worry, fret or fear. Repeat such a phrase to yourself now. This week, the planets suggest that it is particularly likely to work.

Wow, I used to post regularly here but I’ve just realised that I haven’t looked at this blog for months.
Have had quite a few health issues and everything seems to be put on the “back burner”. Even regular tasks are difficult, like dressing myself, or washing my hair. I’ve stopped taking the pain-killers prescribed by my GP, don’t think they were doing anything really - the pain comes and goes as it sees fit. I don’t like the current prognosis from my doctor so I’m hoping that my appointment with the surgeon next week will give me some positive suggestions for things going forward.
I try and find the small things that make me smile…

It is always easier to love someone from afar than to appreciate a companion. We can dream about those remote figures and imagine that they will be wonderful in every way, should we ever be lucky enough to spend time with them. When we project the same hopes and wishes on to those who are a little nearer to us, we keep encountering their faults and foibles. Yet June’s rare transit of Venus enables you to see just how wonderful someone really is. Someone you are close to. This discovery may yet lead to a marvellous month.
Yes - it is going to be a MARVELLOUS month!

After training daily, getting into university in your chosen field, spending hours studying and practicing, and usually holding down another job just to be able to pay the bills - would you work for free?
The Lord of the Rings workout
I won’t reach my next checkpoint in the Walk to Mordor challenge for a while yet, but today I officially caught up with (and surpassed) the estimated distance of the trip :) I think the 11.78 kilometre walk from Springwood to Upper Mt Gravatt on Friday night might have helped a bit. Possibly.
Anyway, I put together this Lord of the Rings-themed workout as a bit of a challenge for the next time I’m watching the movies. I was inspired by the Harry Potter-themed workout, and the Lord of the Rings drinking game.

Quite interesting when you consider the massive disagreements during the discussion regarding Australia’s apology to the Stolen Generation.
Forgiveness doesn’t change the past
But it brightens the future
Brighten someone’s day, one apology at a time…
